Duct and vent cleaning aren’t tasks to be overlooked. In the latest blog post by Vent Logistics, we discuss the importance and benefits of maintaining your ventilation system.
Just like any other machine or appliance, a well looked after ventilation system is likely to last a lot longer. What’s more, regular maintenance will ensure your ventilation system works at its most energy efficient, reducing your carbon footprint.
In our previous blog post, “Three Things You Didn’t Know About IAQ”, we touched on the issues poor air quality can lead to. Unclean ventilation systems that do not undergo regular duct and vent cleaning can produce germs and spores that could have a detrimental effect on your health. On the other hand, a well maintained ventilation system will increase your indoor air quality, ensuring your team members can work at their most productive.
Alongside the obvious health benefits to ensuring a clean and well maintained ventilation system in your domestic, commercial or industrial space, another benefit of ensuring your system is regularly serviced is that any signs of wear or damage will be picked up on in the early stages, helping you to avoid a breakdown of the system.
There is no set frequency at which duct and vent cleaning must be carried out. However, The Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 require “mechanical ventilation systems to be maintained including cleaning as appropriate in an efficient working order and in good repair.”
