CHAS stands for The Contractors Health and Safety Assesment Scheme and serves to demonstrate to customers that a company meets all necessary health and safety standards.<\/p>\n

Whilst it is not a requirement for companies to be CHAS accredited, those that are open up the oppourtunity to work with hospitals, universities and schools, Local Authorities and other larger construction companies.<\/p>\n
Part of the CHAS accreditation requires companies to prove that all employees have received industry related training. Certificates are often favoured by CHAS assessors, over industry experience.
